Hell, I bought the 8 princes dlc even though I wasn't that interested in the time period, mostly because I wanted to support CA. A 3K total war pressed all the buttons there were to press for us.ДЄnd the music is so masterfully produced, the research so well-done, the cultural representation so respectful and inspired, that there really is no reason to not fall in love with the whole thing. We were both natives who loved ancient Chinese history, culture and literature, but also westernized and anglophone enough to have been fervent fans of the TW franchise for one and a half decades, and both dedicated gamers. Although they were all native Chinese (and therefore more-or-less automatically well-versed in 3K) they were not gamers, so they couldn't truly understand why I was going nuts over the news. I remember screaming at my phone and scaring all my co-workers.

At the time I was deep in Warhammer so Total War was a regular life activity. I still remember scrolling on reddit that day when I saw the 3K release thread. Seeing an instalment about China, its classical poetry, heroes and villains, and its arguably most famous period in history come to life through a game franchise I've loved for 15 years is.like a wet dream.
